KBO picks and predictions
Wednesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
Hanwha Eagles ML over KT Wiz (+118)
The KT Wiz beat the Hanwha Eagles 5-2 on Tuesday morning. They are now 70-54-2 on the season and are still in 4th place in the league standings. The KT Wiz will start Odrisamer Despaigne, who is 8-10 and has an ERA of 4.57. In 26 starts he has allowed 75 earned runs over 147.2 innings.
With the loss on Tuesday, the Eagles are now 39-84-2 and continue to sit in last place. They will counter with Felix Pena, who is 4-4 and has an ERA of 4.07. In 11 starts he has allowed 25 earned runs over 55.1 innings.
Pena has not been the most consistent starter this season, but he has been much better than Despaigne. For that reason, backing the Eagles will be the play.
Lotte Giants +1.5 over SSG Landers (-128)
The SSG Landers lost to the Lotte Giants 9-8 on Tuesday morning. They are now 79-43-4 in 2022 and remain in 1st place in the league standings, now by just 3.0 games. The SSG Landers will start Shawn Morimando, who is 5-1 and has an ERA of 2.51. In 8 starts he has allowed 13 earned runs over 46.2 innings.
With the win on Tuesday, the Giants are now 56-68-4 and remain in 7th place in the league standings. The Giants will counter with Na Gyun-An, who is 3-6 and has an ERA of 3.66. In 36 appearances (10 starts) he has allowed 42 earned runs over 103.1 innings.
Both starters have been more than serviceable this year, but Gyun-An has put together better starts recently compared to Morimando. Fading Morimando completely is still a risk, so backing the Giants on the run line will be the play.
Kia Tigers +1.5 over Kiwoom Heroes (-152)
The Kiwoom Heroes beat the Kia Tigers 4-1 on Tuesday. They are now 72-55-2 this season and remain in 3rd place in the league standings. The Heroes will start Eric Jokisch, who is 9-7 and has an ERA of 2.34. In 26 starts he has allowed 42 earned runs over 161.2 innings.
With the loss on Tuesday, the Tigers are now 62-62-1 and remain in 5th place in the league standings. They will counter with Sean Nolin, who is 5-7 and has an ERA of 3.20. In 16 starts he has allowed 32 earned runs over 90.0 innings.
Jokisch has been one of the better starters in the KBO in 2022, but he has had issues when facing the Tigers. Nolin has been very strong this season as well and had a ton of success against the Heroes. For that reason, backing the Tigers on the run line looks to be worth a play.

Extra KBO picks for Wednesday, September 14
Samsung Lions ML (-110) over NC Dinos
The Samsung Lions will start Won Tae-In, who has an ERA of 3.29. He has allowed just 1 earned run over his last 14.0 innings, therefore backing the Lions will be the play.
LG Twins vs Doosan Bears – Under 8.5 runs (+106)
The Samsung Lions will start Im Chan-Kyu, who has an ERA of 4.73. The NC Dinos will counter with Gwak Been, who has an ERA of 3.89. They both have had decent starts recently, each allowing 6 earned runs or fewer in their last 3 starts. Therefore backing the under will be the play.
