KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

LG Twins vs Samsung Lions – Under 7.5 runs (-112)

The total very well could be the better play here, just based on the pitching matchup that has been set. Neither starter always much to his opponent, and tends to go deep into their games. It should be noted that the Lions are 2nd in the KBO in total runs and are averaging 4.25 runs per game. The Twins are right behind them in terms of total runs, and they are averaging 4.15 runs per game. Even knowing that, this should not be a game where many runs are scored because of how well each starter has performed this season. For that reason, look for a pitchers’ duel in this matchup and back a low scoring game that stays under the total.

NC Dinos ML (-102) vs Doosan Bears

The Doosan Bears fell victim to the LG Twins on Sunday, losing 5-0. The Bears are now 11-8 on the season and 0.5 games behind the Twins for 2nd place. Doosan will start the new week by starting Robert Stock. He is 2-0 on the season and has a solid ERA of 2.13. In 4 starts this season, Stock has allowed 6 earned runs in 25.1 innings.

The NC Dinos managed to win their game on Sunday, beating the KT Wiz 2-1 in 10 innings. They are currently 6-14 on the year though and sit in last place entering Tuesday’s game. The Dinos will counter with Drew Rucinski, who is 2-1 this season and has an ERA of 0.33. In 4 starts this season, Rucinski has allowed just 1 earned run in 27.0 innings. He has gone at least 6.0 innings in every start and has dominated his opponents.

The lack of success for the Dinos is certainly a concern, however; they have the pitching advantage on Tuesday. Stock has also been very good, but with Rucinski pitching this well, backing the Dinos to win their 2nd consecutive game is the recommended play.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Hanwha Eagles – Under 7.5 runs (-122)

The total looks to be the better play here because of the fact that both starters are off to a great start. There is also the fact that the Eagles’ offense is average at best. They are 6th in total runs and are averaging 3.65 runs per game. The Heroes’ offense is actually worse, ranking 8th in total runs and averaging 3.4 runs per game. Neither defense is very good, but with 2 solid pitchers on the mound, they should be able to limit the number of runs scored. For that reason, we recommended backing the under.
