KBO picks and predictions
Tuesday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
NC Dinos ML (-122) over LG Twins
The NC Dinos won their game this past Sunday against the KT Wiz by a score of 5-0. They are now 48-59-3 on the season but are still in 7th place in the league standings. The Dinos will start Drew Rucinski, who is 8-9 on the season and has an ERA of 2.64. In 24 starts this season, he has allowed 45 earned runs over 153.1 innings.
The LG Twins also won their game this past Sunday, beating the Kiwoom Heroes 7-0. They are now 68-42-1 and remain in 2nd place in the league standings. The Twins will counter with Lee Min-Ho, who is 10-5 and has an ERA of 5.42. In 20 starts he has allowed 58 earned runs over 96.1 innings.
Even though Min-Ho has a solid record this season, his ERA is very concerning. Rucinski has been far more consistent and has had much more success against the Twins compared to Min-Ho against the Dinos. For that reason backing the Dinos will be the play for Tuesday morning.
Doosan Bears vs KT Wiz – Under 7.5 runs (-116)
The total looks to be the better play in this matchup based on the seasons that both of these starters are having. Brandon Waddell only has 4 starts this season, but has allowed 3 runs or less in each one thus far. In his only start against the KT Wiz he allowed 2 earned runs over 6.0 innings.
On the other side, Ko Young-Pyo has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 starts. In his last 4 starts he has allowed 7 earned runs over 27.1 innings. In 5 starts against the Bears he has allowed 10 earned runs over 36.1 innings. Based on the success that Young-Pyo has had against the Bears and the success that Waddell has had in all 4 of his starts this season, backing the under looks to be worth a play.
Samsung Lions +1.5 (-106) over Lotte Giants
The SSG Landers lost their game this past Sunday to the Lotte Giants 4-2. They are now 76-36-3 on the season and are still in 1st place in the league standings by 7.0 games. The SSG Landers will start Wilmer Font, who is 13-6 on the season and has an ERA of 2.59. In 23 starts he has allowed 44 earned runs over 153.0 innings.
The Samsung Lions won their most recent game on Sunday, beating the Hanwha Eagles 5-4. They are now 47-65-2 and are still in 9th place in the league standings. The Lions will start Albert Suarez, who is 4-7 and has an ERA of 2.67. In 23 appearances (22 starts) he has allowed 38 earned runs over 128.0 innings.
Both starters have had solid seasons, but Font has had a few rough starts recently. For that reason, backing the Lions to keep this game close behind Suarez will be the play for Tuesday morning.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Tuesday, August 30
Hanwha Eagles ML (+126) over Kia Tigers
The Hanwha Eagles will start Yefry Ramirez, who has an ERA of 3.27. He also has an ERA of 0.75 against the Kia Tigers, therefore backing the Eagles looks to be worth a play.
Lotte Giants ML (-160) over Kiwoom Heroes
The Lotte Giants will start Charlie Barnes, who has an ERA of 2.98. The Kiwoom Heroes will counter with Yoon Jung-Hyun, who has an ERA of 14.21. Because Barnes has a massive advantage on the mound, backing the Giants looks to be worth a play.
