KBO picks and predictions
Thursday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
KT Wiz +1.5 (-108) over LG Twins
The LG Twins beat the NC Dinos 5-3 on Wednesday morning. They are now 69-42-1 on the season and remain in 2nd place in the league standings. The Twins will start Casey Kelly on Thursday morning, who is 14-2 on the season and has an ERA of 2.64. In 21 starts the season, he has allowed 38 earned runs over 129.2 innings.
The KT Wiz also won their game on Wednesday morning, beating the Doosan Bears 5-2. They are now 64-49-2 and are still in 3rd place in the league standings. The KT Wiz will counter with Um Sang-Back, who is 7-2 and has an ERA of 3.46. In 27 appearances (16 starts), he has allowed 40 earned runs over 104.0 innings.
Kelly has been one of the better pitchers this season in the KBO, but Sang-Back has been solid enough to not fade completely. For that reason, backing the KT Wiz on the run line will be the play for Thursday morning.
Lotte Giants vs Doosan Bears – Under 7.5 runs (-104)
The total looks to be the better play because both starters are in decent form at the moment. In Na Gyun-An’s last 2 starts he has allowed 4 runs (2 earned) over 13.0 innings. He also has had a ton of success against the Bears, allowing just 3 earned runs over 14.1 innings in 3 appearances (1 start).
On the other side, Robert Stock has allowed 7 runs (5 earned) over 19.0 innings in his last 3 starts. In 3 starts against the Giants this season he has allowed 7 runs (5 earned) over 20.2 innings. Because they have both had a ton of success against each other and have both been in good form recently, backing the under looks to the worth a play on Thursday morning.
Samsung Lions vs Kia Tigers – Over 9.5 runs (-106)
The total may be the better play for Thursday morning based on the recent form of both starters. In his last 3 starts, Won Tae-In has allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over 16.0 innings. In 4 starts against the Tigers, he has allowed 17 runs (15 earned) over 22.0 innings.
On the other side Lee Eui-Lee has allowed 8 runs (6 earned) over 17.0 innings in has last 3 starts. He has had success against the Lions, allowing just 1 earned run over 7.0 innings in his only start against them. However, this start was back in April. They both have struggled to limit runs recently, therefore expecting runs to be scored will be the play.

The Kiwoom Heroes will start An Woo-Jin, who has an ERA of 2.21. On top of that, he has an ERA of 3.00 against the Hanwha Eagles. Therefore backing the Heroes looks to be worth a play.

The NC Dinos will start Song Myung-Gi, who has an ERA of 4.91. The SSG Landers will counter with Park Jong-Hun, who has an ERA of 6.98. Because they have both struggled all season, backing the over will be the play.
