KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes ML (+134) vs Doosan Bears

The Doosan Bears picked up the win on Saturday and will be looking for a second consecutive win to close out their series with the Kiwoom Heroes on Sunday. The Bears will start Ariel Miranda. He has had a poor start to the season, losing his lone start to give him a record of 0-1. He also has an ERA of 13.50, so he will desperately be looking for a bounce-back performance.

The Heroes will counter with Choi Won-Tae, who has been quite the opposite of Miranda. He has made 2 starts this season, picking up a win in his most recent start. He has also allowed just 1 earned run in 12.1 innings. His most recent start saw him pitch a shutout against the NC Dinos in 7.0 innings.

Miranda’s early season struggles are a small concern and while he should bounce back with a better performance, Won-Tae has been too strong to start the season. For that reason backing the Heroes will be the play.

KT Wiz vs Lotte Giants ML (-156)

The KT Wiz got a much-needed win on Saturday morning, but are still 3-9 to start the season. They will look for a 2nd consecutive win on Sunday and will start Um Sang-Back. He has yet to record a decision this year, but all of his appearances so far have been in relief. This will be his first start of the season and he has an ERA of 2.08.

The loss on Saturday dropped the Lotte Giants back to .500, but they look to be in a good spot to bounce back on Sunday. The Giants will start Charlie Barnes, who is emerging as one of the better pitchers in the KBO. He is 2-0 to start the season, allowing 2 earned runs over 17.2 innings. He also has a miniscule ERA of 1.02, suggesting he will be able to shut down this KT Wiz offense.

Even after getting shut out on Saturday, the Giants look to be the side worth backing. They have the advantage on the mound with Barnes, while Sang-Back is making his first start. For that reason backing the Giants will be the play.

Samsung Lions vs SSG Landers – Under 7.5 Runs (-102)

Given the pitching matchup, the under might be the better play in this game. The SSG Landers are the top scoring team in the league, averaging 5.1 runs per game. They are also the best defensive team, allowing just 2 runs per game. As for the Lions, they are averaging 4.2 runs per game and are allowing 3.6 runs per game. Both of the starters have allowed very little this season and both are coming off their best pitching performance of the season so far. For that reason backing the under will be the play.

Looking for a bigger payout? Play the best bets as a 3-team parlay — which pays out at +660.
