KBO picks and predictions
Saturday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
LG Twins ML (-136) over KT Wiz
The LG Twins fell to the KT Wiz 9-6 on Friday morning. They are now 40-29-1 on the season and remain in 3rd place in the league standings. The Twins will start Adam Plutko, who is 6-3 and has an ERA of 3.02. In 14 starts he has allowed 28 earned runs over 83.1 innings.
With the loss on Friday, the KT Wiz are now 34-34-2 and are 5th place in the league standings. They will counter with Odrisamer Despaigne, who is 3-7 on the season and has an ERA of 4.48. In 12 starts he has allowed 39 earned runs over 78.1 innings.
Despaigne has been having a rough season to say the least. He has been inconsistent for majority of the season, therefore backing the Twins will be the play.
SSG Landers ML (-235) over NC Dinos
The SSG Landers easily won their game on Friday morning, beating the NC Dinos 14-2. They are now 44-24-3, have won 2 games in a row, and remain in 1st place in the league standings. The SSG Landers will start Kim Kwang-Hyun, who is 7-1 and has an ERA of 1.54. In 12 starts he has allowed 13 earned runs over 76.0 innings.
With the loss on Friday, the Dinos are now 27-40-2. They are still in the cellar, remaining in 9th place in the league standings. The Dinos will counter with Song Myung-Gi on Saturday morning, who is 2-4 and has an ERA of 4.78. In 10 starts he has allowed 26 earned runs over 49.0 innings.
The starting pitching matchup is a huge mismatch in favor of the SSG Landers. Kwang-Hyun has been one of the best pitchers all season, therefore backing them to win will be the play here on Saturday.
Samsung Lions vs Hanwha Eagles – Under 7.5 runs (-104)
The total may actually be the better play here based on the recent form of these starting pitchers. Albert Suarez has allowed 4 or more runs in just 3 starts. Over his last 3 starts, he has allowed a total of 6 runs (2 earned) over 16.0 innings. If the defense can clean up their mistakes, Suarez should be in line for another dominating performance where he shuts down the Eagles’ offense.
On the other side, Kim Min-Woo has allowed 4 or more runs in 5 of his starts this season. However, over his last 3 starts, he has allowed just 3 total runs over 18.0 innings. In 2 starts against the Lions, he has allowed 7 earned runs over 11.0 innings, however; in his most recent start against them he allowed 1 earned run over 6.0 innings. Based on the recent form from both guys, backing the under will be the play.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Saturday, June 25th
Doosan Bears ML (-120) over Kia Tigers
The Kia Tigers won 4-3 on Friday morning but look to be in a much more difficult spot on Friday. The Doosan Bears will start Ariel Miranda, who has an ERA of 3.86. The Tigers will start Ronnie Williams, who has an ERA of 5.49. For that reason, backing the Bears will be the play.
Lotte Giants ML (+126) over Kiwoom Heroes
The Kiwoom Heroes lost on Friday morning and do not look to be in a good spot here on Saturday, either. The Lotte Giants have a slight edge in starting pitching with Kim Jin-Uk. He has an ERA of 4.67, while Jeong Chan-Heon has an ERA of 5.05 for the Heroes. For that reason, backing the Giants looks to be worth a play.
