Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for the 1st round playoff series.
Jrue Holiday (MIL) over 7.3 assists per game (series) (-120)
Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday is one of the league’s quietest superstars. Playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton takes the shine away from Holiday, one of the best 2-way players in the league. Holiday averaged 8.7 assists and 9.3 in the NBA Finals in last year’s championship run.
In the regular season Holiday averaged 6.8 assists in 34 minutes per game. I expect his playing time to hover around 38 minutes per game in the first round and continue to run one of the best offenses in the league.
The Chicago Bulls are going to struggle mightily against the Bucks. The Bulls lost all 4 games in the regular-season meetings and were outmatched on both sides of the ball. Holiday dished out 13 assists in their final meeting but only averaged 6.8 in the 4 games. He played under his season average in minutes in 2 of those games, which altered his assist average.
I like for the Bucks to make quick work of the Bulls, and Holidays’ playmaking ability will be a key component.
