Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside with my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Tuesday.
Nikola Jokic (Nuggets) over 37.5 points + rebounds (-120)
Line available at Draftkings at the time of publishing.
We went 2-0 backing the Joker last week and we are going right back to him. He had another historic week and is getting MVP considerations once again. Last week he covered this line in 3 of the 4 games and just missed on the hook against Memphis.
Tonight he faces the 11-35 Detroit Pistons. Like most, I thought of the blowout potential right away. But, it has been over 2 weeks since the Nuggets won by more than 10 points. They have struggled to close out poor teams like the Thunder, Clippers, and Pistons. Jokic scored 34 points and reeled down 9 rebounds primarily going against 6’8” center Isiah Stewart on Sunday. He continues to be one of the most difficult matchups in the league with his scoring and passing ability.
The Joker is over this line in 25 of 40 games this season, including 17 of 21 in games the Nuggets have won. Anything can happen in todays NBA, but, the Nuggets should take care of business against a rebuilding Pistons team.

Christian Wood (Rockets) over 19.5 points (-108)
Line available at Fanduel at the time of publishing.
Christian Wood is entering his 8th season and is putting together another solid campaign with the young Rockets squad. He is the leader and veteran in the locker room as a 26-year-old. Other than his off-the-court issues, Wood has been a phenomenal acquisition for the Rockets when they acquired him in a sign-and-trade in 2020.
Wood will face the San Antonio Spurs tonight who he has had plenty of success versus. As a member of the Rockets, Wood is over this line in all 3 games including a 23-point performance two weeks ago. The Spurs — specifically Jakob Poeltl — struggle to defend the frontcourt. They allow the 5th-most points to the center position and the 2nd-most points in the paint.
W0od is over this line in 21 of 44 games, including 11 of 19 at home. I expect another 20+ point performance from Wood and to put the Rockets on his back tonight in a winnable game.

Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves) over 21.5 points (-105)
Line available at Fanduel at the time of publishing.
I have been known to back Edwards from time to time. He continues to turn heads with his scoring ability from all facets on the floor. His scoring average is up from 19.3 to 22.2 including splits of 44/37/80. He takes over games for Minnesota even with the likes of fellow No. 1 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns and No. 2 pick in 2015 D’Angelo Russell.
The T-Wolves face off against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight, which projects to be a high-scoring game with a total of 233. Edwards has torched Portland in his young career. He is averaging over 26 points per game in 4 career games including going over this line in 3 of them. His one miss was a 21-point performance in his rookie campaign.
Ant-Man is over this line in half the games played this season and has scored at least 20 in 61% of games. I expect another 18+ field goal attempts from Edwards in a fast-paced game.
