Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Friday.

Check out our picks for all of tonight’s NBA games!

Jerami Grant (DET) over 18.5 points (-1 20)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable at 19.5.

When the Detroit Pistons gave Jerami Grant a three-year contract worth $20 million per year, people were skeptical. Looking at it now, they got a great deal. Grant is averaging 19.5 points per game and is currently on a scoring tear. He has scored at least 20 points in 9 of his last 11 games and averaged 25 in his previous 5. The media instantly locks eyes on rookie Cade Cunningham, who is also playing great basketball at the moment, but Grant is showing everyone that if Detroit can put another star around him and Cunningham, they may have something special.

Grant faces off against a familiar Washington Wizards squad. He has played Washington three times this season, all three of which Cunningham played in, averaging 22.7 points per game. The Wizards are fresh off losing last night to a Bucks team without Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo and look like they are throwing in the towel for this season.

Grant scored 21 points in only 21 minutes Wednesday against the Hawks, and I expect him to continue his hot-scoring stretch.

Rudy Gobert (UTA) over 28.5 points + rebounds (-125)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Rudy Gobert is having another fantastic year. He is in contention for the defensive player of the year once again, but I have my eyes set on his points and rebounds prop tonight. Gobert is averaging 15.4 points per game, 2nd best of his career, and 14.5 rebounds most of his career. His rebounding numbers have been low the past three games, but this is a perfect bounce-back game.

The Charlotte Hornets’ big man Mason Plumlee has struggled all season to defend centers. The Hornets allow the 2nd-most points and rebounds to the position. This week, Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas had a career game against the Hornets. He scored 24 points and reeled down 18 rebounds.

In December, Gobert put together a 24 and 21 game against Plumlee, and I would not be surprised to see the same tonight.
