Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Sunday.
Marcus Smart (BOS) over 19.5 points + assists (-115)
Line available at BetMGM Sports at time of publishing.
We have been backing Boston’s point-guard all season long. He does a phenomenal job of running the offense for the Celtics. Even as the 3rd option in the offense behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Smart finds ways to score. He has made at least two three-pointers in 19 of his last 30 games and has scored at least 15 points in 5 of his previous 10 games. The Celtics have let Smart handle the ball more than usual lately. He averages over 7 assists in his last 10 games with 12.3 assist opportunities.
Tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets presents a nice matchup for Smart. The Nuggets allow the 3rd most points and 7th most assists to the point-guard position. Darius Garland, Stephen Curry, and De’Aaron Fox all went over their points and assists averages by a wide margin in the last two weeks.
Smart has gone over this line in 7 of his last ten games and scored 22 points against the Nuggets in February.
