Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief write-ups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself in being as transparent as they come. My NBA record from last season and this season are listed in my bio alongside my MLB record. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite plays for Friday.
Jarrett Allen (Cavaliers) over 27.5 points + rebounds (-111)
Line available at Fanduel Sportsbook at time of publishing.
Jarrett Allen is on nice stretch since not being elected to the all-star team. In his last 3 games, the Cleveland big man is averaging 37 points, rebounds, and assists. This number is slightly inflated due to a massive 51 points + rebounds performance against the Hornets, but he still is over this line in each of the last 3.
Tonight he faces the Indiana Pacers, against whom he just scored 15 points and reeled in 17 rebounds. Isiah Jackson did not play in that game and is questionable, but the Pacers do have 7-footer Goga Bitadze to challenge Allen. When Bitadze is on the floor, the Pacers have a defensive rating of 115.3.
The Cavaliers will be without all-star Darius Garland, so I am expecting a bigger workload for Allen. This game should be close, too, allowing for Allen to see 30+ minutes.

Jakob Poeltl (Spurs) over 20.5 points + rebounds (-120)
Line available at Caesars Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable at 21.5 for .5 unit
Jakob Poeltl is having a great statistical season for the Spurs. He is setting himself up for a nice extension in the next year or two. Poeltl is averaging 13 points and 9 rebounds per game and has recorded 18 double-doubles in 45 games this season. He is in a great spot to record yet another one against the Hawks and Clint Capela.
The last three times Poeltl has faced off against fellow big man Capela, he has gone over this line in all three and even recorded a double-double on every occasion.
Poeltl is over this line in 28 of 45 games this season and 8 for his last 10. I expect a bounce-back game from him following a tough matchup against Allen and the Cavaliers.
