Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season is listed in my bio. On the year, I recorded 150 wins and 107 losses for a gain of +31 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Sunday.

Aaron Civale (CLE) under 4.5 Ks (+120)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

We sweated out Aaron Civale under 3.5 Ks in his opening start last week. He struck out 3 batters in his first 2 innings and then went ice cold. He got pulled halfway through the 4th inning against the Kansas City Royals.

Today, he faces off against the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are hitting right-handed pitchers for an average of .246, the 10th-best figure in the majors, but they are also striking out at the 10th-highest rate. Cleveland’s Cal Quantrill and Zach Plesac arguably have better finishing pitches than Civale, and they combined for only 6 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched to start this series.

I expect the Giants’ bats to come out hot and finish a series sweep.
