Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!

I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season is listed in my bio. On the year, I recorded 150 wins and 107 losses for a gain of +31 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Wednesday.

Zach Plesac (CLE) under 4.5 Ks (-116)

Line available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

There is no debating that Guardians pitcher Zach Plesac has been a top pitcher in the American League to start the season. In 3 starts, he has an ERA of 1.53 and is giving the Cleveland Guardians some much-needed innings. He has gone at least 5 innings in all 3 starts but, crucially, has yet to top 5 strikeouts.

Even dating back to last season, Plesac never had put-away pitches. On this line, he was under in 17 of 25 starts and had a 5.18 ERA on the road.

The Los Angeles Angels have struggled against right-handed pitching this season. Pitchers Justin Verlander, Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie all recorded 6 strikeouts or more against them but their pitch mix is much deeper than Plesac.

I still expect Plesac to deal tonight but that will result in ground balls and fly-outs which he ranks in the top 50 of all starting pitchers.
