Pickswise was nice enough to give me the opportunity to write my plays up for you all. For those of you who don’t know me, they refer to me as JutPicks on Twitter. I post all my plays with brief writeups every day. Now I get to write even more with no character limit!
I pride myself on being as transparent as they come. My MLB record from last season is listed in my bio. On the year, I recorded 150 wins and 107 losses for a gain of +31 units. Without further ado, let’s dive into my favorite play for Friday.

Adam Wainwright kicks off his 17th season with the St. Louis Cardinals. He faces off against one of the worst offenses in the majors, the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks are hitting a league low .187 against right-handed pitching and carry a 26.5 percent strikeout rate, also the worst mark in baseball.
The Diamondbacks will bring out fellow veteran Madison Bumgarner. Wainwright and Bumgarner have a great relationship off the diamond and that could give some extra motivation for him to pitch a gem tonight at home.
I expect Wainwright to go deep into this game. Wainwright is riding a 16-game streak of pitching at least 6 innings at home. Against a putrid offense like the Diamondbacks, it would not surprise me to see him go into the 7th or 8th inning tonight.
Wainwright is over this line 15 of his last 20 home games including a 6-strikeout performance against the Pirates this season where he allowed 0 runs.
