Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets expert picks
We have 2 NFL picks for this week’s clash between the Jaguars and Jets. Let’s take a look.
Money line pick: Jaguars over Jets (-108)
The Jaguars have a ton of momentum heading into Thursday Night Football after upsetting the Dallas Cowboys 40-34 in overtime this past week. Of course, Jacksonville’s good feelings extend much farther back than that lone result. Since beginning the season 2-6, Trevor Lawrence and company have won 4 of their last 6 games – including 3 of 4 since their bye. Combined with the Tennessee Titans’ slump, the Jags are suddenly just 1 game back in the AFC South standings.
New York is going in the opposite direction. Head coach Robert Saleh’s squad started the season 5-2 only to compile a mirror-image 2-5 mark over the last 7 contests. QB Mike White missed this past Sunday’s 20-17 home loss to the Detroit Lions and he was a limited participant at Monday’s practice. Zach Wilson, who threw for 317 yards and 2 TDs against the Lions but completed just 18 of 35 attempts and was picked off once, will be back in the starting role if White is out.
Jacksonville is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 overall and 3-0-1 ATS in its last 4 games against the AFC. Regardless of who is under center for the Jets, look for the Jaguars to keep rolling.

Jaguars vs Jets over/under totals pick: Over 38.5 (-110)
Given the way Jacksonville’s offense is clicking, a relatively low 38.5 total seems to present an opportunity for the over. The Jaguars are averaging 38 points in their last 2 games. Head coach Doug Pederson (instead of Urban Meyer) appears to be just what the doctor ordered for Lawrence, who has 24 touchdown passes to just 7 interceptions this year. The former #1 overall pick has thrown for at least 318 yards in 3 of the last 4 games and over the past 6 he has 14 touchdowns and only 1 interception. Jacksonville’s pass defense is a weakness (29th in the NFL), however, so New York should also be able to contribute to the point total.
The over is 4-0 in the Jaguars’ last 4 overall and 8-1 in their last 9 road games. It is also 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between the 2 teams and 5-1 in the Jags’ last 6 at the Jets. It would be wise to monitor both White’s status and the weather forecast (significant rain and wind is possible) throughout the week, but right now Over 38.5 looks like a good play.
