How to bet on the Rams-Chiefs with the relocation change

The Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs play in the biggest game of the season so far this year and both teams were thrown a dodgeball earlier this week. Originally the game was scheduled to take place in Mexico City at high elevation, but with the concerns with the field, the game has now been moved back to Los Angeles at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Instead of being a neutral site game this is now a home game for the Rams with a lot of the tickets being given away to first responders of the fire. The Rams are currently 3.5 point favorites in this game and the total is set at 63. So how should you bet on the game with the relocation? Let’s break it down.

Kansas City Chiefs

Going on the road doesn’t seem to have an effect on the Kansas City Chiefs offense. Overall this is a team averaging 35.3 points per game and on the road that number actually goes up a bit to 36.8 points per game. This team doesn’t really seem to care where they are, as long as the weather is good, which it should be on Monday night, they will light up the scoreboard.

On the defensive side is where the Chiefs seem to struggle on the road. Overall they are giving up 24 points per game but on the road, they are giving up over 30 points. A big difference is their pass defense seems to struggle a bit more giving up 40 yards per game more.

Los Angeles Rams

Much like the Chiefs, it doesn’t matter where the Rams offense is, they are going to have no issue running up the score. They are averaging 33.5 points per game and at home that number rises a bit to 34.4 points. At home they actually rush for less yards, but they have more pass and overall yards at the Coliseum.

On the defensive side there isn’t a big difference. They are giving up 23.1 points per game and at home that number does drop a bit to 22.4. A big reason that the defense might not be that much better at home is that there isn’t a great home field advantage. It feels like most games there are a ton of opponents fans in the stadium. With the short notice maybe the Chiefs fans won’t travel as well and there could be a better advantage for the defense in this game.

Prediction

The Chiefs are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 11 as well as 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The Los Angeles Rams simple have the better team on Monday Night and it will show as their defense is starting to really come around now. They are ranked in the top 15th in the category of points allowed per game as well as total yards per game. As for Kansas City they are giving up one of the highest rushing yards per game as they welcome in Todd Gurley who is my MVP choice at the moment. Take the Rams as they cover the spread in an outstanding 34-27 win.
