There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Thursday, including at Saratoga race track. Here are three runners which we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

1:05 pm Saratoga (Race 1) – Mystic Eyes 7/5

A relatively cheap $40,000 purchase at the yearling sales at Keeneland back in September last year the daughter of McLean’s Music has joined a top yard in that of Todd Pletcher and has shown plenty of ability in the morning. The selection’s most recent clocked work resulted in a 1:02.12 five furlong turf breeze at this circuit at the end of last month and she looks up to scoring with veteran jockey John Velazquez up on racecourse debut.

3:55 pm Saratoga (Race 6) – No Time Alone 7/5

Performed well below par when last of five over five-furlongs-and-one-hundred-and-fifty-yards at Belmont Park on debut in May but took a marked step forward when finishing runner-up over a slightly shorter distance on turf at the same track early last month. Racing close the speed that day appeared to suit and the Flintshire filly can employ similar tactics prior to going on to break her maiden back up to five-and-one-half-furlongs from post position five for trainer Wesley Ward.

5:39 pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Lone Rock 1/1

The selection has demonstrated good form at a mile-and-one-half in recent months including when registering an impressive eleven-and-a-quarter-length victory in the Grade 2 Brooklyn Stakes at Belmont Park in early June. The son of Majestic Warrior was in control entering the straight that day and shaped as if the step up in distance here should suit having taken a stakes race and an allowance event at Churchill Downs and Oaklawn Park respectively prior. Looks set to prove hard to beat.
