There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Monday, including at Parx race track. Here are 3 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races on Monday. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
2:43 pm Parx (Race 5) – Jeezum Jim 5/2
Jamie Ness is the trainer to follow at Parx at present, winning with 34% of his last 50 runners at the venue. This eight-year-old gained his most recent victory at Parx, quickening clear by six lengths under an aggressive front-running ride in an $21,000 claimer. On the figures, he’s run to a similar standard in two subsequent starts, before a poor run at Delaware last time. He’s capable of bouncing back, however, especially at a venue he loves, at a very manageable level for him.
3:10 pm Parx (Race 6) – Caramel Cream 4/1
Eight-time winner who has gained six of those successes at Parx, latterly in a $24,000 starter allowance race back in April. Although winless in seven subsequent starts, she’s gone close in three recent outings, latterly when second in a $50,000 starter allowance race. She now finds herself down in grade and recent work at Parx has been pleasing. A wide draw is negated by the fact she’s a deep closer and there’s plenty to like about her chances at this level.
4:31 pm Parx (Race 9) – Munny Bolt 9/5
Costing an enormous $460,000 as a two-year-old, this son of Munnings has shaped well in a pair of starts at Saratoga thus far. Showing plenty of inexperience on debut, he took a big step forward when second last time, bumping into a smart winner but pulling a long way clear of the rest. This should be a much more manageable level for this promising sort and this is a rare runner at Parx for Steve Asmussen. His 2021 record at the venue reads 32112 and this expensive purchase should make it third-time lucky.
