Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Saturday, March 5: Expect a win for Never Surprised

Horse Racing

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 249.75 units dating back to last August. On Wednesday we picked 2 winners in 4 races for a profit of 9 units, including one 8/1 longshot success. Thursday brought a 2/1 winner out of 3 races and we went 2-for-4 on Friday for a profit of 7.6 units. We are up 16.6 units over the past 3 days, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Here are 5 runners we expect to perform well on Saturday. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

1:10 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 3) – Never Surprised 4/5

Todd Pletcher’s Never Surprised has shown a liking for this trip and track in the past including when winning by 6-and-a-quarter-lengths in a Listed stakes event at the end of December. Excuses for a length defeat in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational over a mile-and-one-eighth last time out when his jockey dropped his whip. Sets the standard on form and looks capable of recording his 5th win in 9 career starts and a first in Graded company.

2:40 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Girl With A Dream 3/1

The daughter of Practical Joke broke her maiden on debut in July last year and while she suffered defeats on her next two outings she returned to winning ways when taking an allowance over just shy over 7 furlongs at Churchill Downs in November. A dual stakes winner since including over seven furlongs in the Grade 3 Forward Gal Stakes here a month ago she looks capable of completing a 4-timer stepping up in distance for handler Brad Cox.

3:10 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Royal Spirit 5/2

Delivered 2 competitive efforts in stakes company prior to getting off the mark when winning by one-and-a-quarter-lengths in a maiden special weight over seven-and-one-half-furlongs here at the start of January. Proved that he can be competitive in Graded company when narrowly beaten having raced prominently in the Grade 3 Kitten’s Joy Stakes over a mile-and-one-sixteenth here subsequently. Slight drop in trip is no issue and he can confirm form with the third home that day Coinage.

4:40 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Fearless 3/1

The 6-year-old was beaten by Speaker’s Corner when the pair finished one-two in the Grade 3 Fred W Hooper Stakes over this course and distance at the end of January. Todd Pletcher’s charge was beaten one-and-a-quarter-lengths by the all the way winner on that occasion but having impressed when winning a Grade 3 over a mile-and-one-sixteenth here prior to that and with a six pound pull at the weights here Luis Saez’s mount is taken to reverse that form.

5:42 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 12) – Rattle N Roll 8/1

The mount of Brian Hernandez Jr broke his maiden by three lengths having been ridden from mid-pack in a mile-and-one-sixteenth maiden special weight at Churchill Downs in September. Impressed when drawing clear of his rivals when employing similar tactics in the Grade 1 Breeders Futurity over the same trip at Keeneland the following month. Comes into this on the back of a 58.67 5-furlong work here and can conceded weight to his rivals to make a winning 3-year-old debut.
