There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Saturday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +217.12 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Gulfstream Park race track.
3:41 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Wicked Finn 8/1 (1-star play)
Race 8 at Gulfstream Park is a Starter Optional Claimer over an extended mile on the all-weather course and one who can go well is course and distance winner Wicked Finn. Blake Kelly’s son of Wicked Strong has won in this grade and comes into this off the back of some impressive speed figures, so if Joel Rosario can get into a good position from stall 3 then the pair should be in the shake up at the finish.
4:10 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Cairo Consort 7/5 (2-star play)
A field of 9 3-year-old fillies go to post for the $100,000 Ginger Brew Stakes over a mile on the turf in which they all have to go some to beat Todd Pletcher’s Cairo Consort, who was last seen finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. This is a filly of some potential. After easily winning a stakes event at Woodbine she then finished second and third, respectively, in 2 Grade 1’s while giving the impression she could make a nice 3-year-old so she is certainly one to keep a close eye on.
4:39 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Pappacap 2/1 (2-star play)
The penultimate contest is an Allowance Optional Claimer which is being run over a mile on the dirt and this can go to Pappacap who takes a welcome drop in grade having been tried at graded level since he won his maiden here back in 2021. This son of Gun Runner has won a Grade 2 and hit the board in Grade 1’s, so he should be winning this — albeit it being his first start since last July. Recent workouts have been good and it will be disappointing should he not put in a big effort here.
5:09 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 11) – Moon Cat 4/1 (2-star play)
Christopher Davis’s Moon Cat finished a very respectable fourth on debut here last month and he can strike on his second start with this step back in trip looking likely to suit. He was given a lovely education on debut, which was over a mile and a sixteenth, but just tired late on so this extended 7 furlongs should be ideal and he can go close with that debut run under his belt.
