There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 232.65 units dating back to August 5.
Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
3:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Bonheur 8/1
Race 7 at Gulfstream Park is a competitive $24,000 Claiming contest over an extended five furlongs on the all-weather track and I like the chances of Bonheur who was perhaps unlucky not to finish closer than fourth over course and distance last time out. She took a big bump coming out of the stalls and was last early on but she made up a good amount of ground and finished well so if she can have a better start this time around then she has a good chance of winning.
4:11 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Family Time 10/1
Dale Romans trained Not This Time who would have gone on to be a champion but unfortunately had to retire because of injury back in 2016 but his progeny carry on his legacy and he is represented here with the filly Family Time who has enough ability to win this $61,000 Allowance Optional Claimer, Race 8. She won twice last campaign, both of which were very impressive over trips slightly further than this mile but this trip will be fine and she is the type of filly who will get better with age so a bold bid is expected.
4:42 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Mutasaabeq 2/1
The ninth race at Gulfstream Park is the penultimate race on the card and this is a good $62,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event over an extended six furlongs on the dirt which features the highly promising Mutasaabeq. Todd Pletcher’s son of Into Mischief was the talk of the town when winning the Grade 2 Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland in 2020 before winning the Mucho Macho Man Stakes at this course last January as a three-year-old. He has been off the track since then but I wouldn’t want to be taking him on just yet, especially given the fact he could destroy this field if he retains his ability.
5:14 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 10) – Golden Indy 3/1
A field of nine are set to go to post for this $43,000 Maiden Optional Claiming contest and Golden Indy, who was in-experienced when failing to change legs in the stretch on debut last time out, can put that experience to good use and win at the second attempt. He went off favourite for that mile turf event and ran well to finish fifth but my thoughts are that we will see a much better Golden Indy under similar conditions this time around.
