There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We are still absolutely on fire with our picks — up 31.8 units over the past 9 days to give us a profit of 208.25 units dating back to Aug. 5. Let’s maintain the momentum!
Here are four runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
2:56 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Eighthandbroadway 9/2
Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $60,000 Maiden Special Weight over six furlongs and this one can go to Eighthandbroadway who can improve from his latest second at this course and break his maiden at the third time of asking. This Chestnut son of Ghostzapper finished sixth on debut here back in January but returned last month to run a very good second behind Aeronaut whilst showing a good attitude and running on all the way to the line so if he improves again from that he can win.
3:26 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Jade Empress 6/1
Mark Casse’s Jade Empress is dropping into Claiming company having been contesting races at a higher level and that can see her get her head in front for the first time since January in Race 7 at Gulfstream Park. She broke her maiden tag over seven furlongs here on her fifth career start and should have no problem with this extended six furlong trip as she has plenty of track experience and she should welcome this drop in class having not disgraced herself in better races than this.
3:56 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – Group Hug 3/1
The penultimate contest at Gulfstream Park is a $38,000 Claiming event in which a field of seven are set to go to post and I like the look of the horse in the outside gate, Group Hug, who has been running consistently well all year and is another who is dropping into Claiming company for this first time. He hit the board in multiple Maiden races before finally winning his first race two starts back and with form figures here reading 522 he should welcome a return to this course and a big run beckons.
4:32 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Charlotte The Brit 7/2
An open looking $24,000 Claimer for the females is the ninth and final race at Gulfstream Park and the five-year-old Charlotte The Brit can take this for Jorge Delgado and his team. She stays further than this extended five furlong trip and comes into this off the back of two good seconds in similar events so if Chantal Sutherland can get across and into a prominent position from stall seven then she’ll be right there at the finish.
