4:34 pm Saratoga (Race 7) – Citizen K 5/2 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Saratoga is an Allowance Optional Claiming contest taking place over a mile trip on the turf surface and the one to beat here is Horacio De Paz’s Citizen K. The general feeling is that we have yet to see the best of this gelding, who will be very tough to beat if he runs close to the form of his 6-length victory in an Allowance at Aqueduct back in April.

5:10 pm Saratoga (Race 8) – She Caught My Eye 7/2 (2-star play)

A field of 8 older fillies and mares is set to go to post for this seven furlong Starter Allowance in which Mosienko is likely to prove a tough nut to crack but I like the filly drawn in the outside post, She Caught My Eye, who has been putting up some solid performances of late. Form figures from her last 3 starts in this grade read 331 and she could prove difficult to peg back if getting to the lead early as she stays further than this.

5:44 pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Ari Gold 4/1 (2-star play)

Todd Pletcher’s Ari Gold is a likeable son of Medaglia D’Oro and he remains with a huge amount of potential on his first start as a 3-year-old. Luis Saez’s mount went back-to-back last Winter culminating in a determined stakes win at Gulfstream Park, so it would not surprise should he carry on where he left off especially after putting in some solid breezes of late.

6:18 pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Vacation Dance 5/1 (1-star play)

The $150,000 New York Stallion Series Stakes is a hotly contested affair for the 3-year-olds and John Kimmel’s Vacation Dance, who won his maiden here and is a stakes race winner, can take this under the capable hands of Kendrick Carmouche. He is a son of The Lieutenant, who improved with age, so I have no doubt there is more improvement to come from this colt who has enough ability to win the finale at Saratoga.
