There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Saratoga race track. We have hit 28 winners in our last 62 races, profiting 43.6 units during this hot stretch. Let’s keep it rolling! Here are 4 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
4:29pm Saratoga (Race 7) – Gandy Dancing 9/2
Race 7 at Saratoga is a $55,000 Claiming contest over six furlongs on the dirt surface and this one can go to Chad Brown’s Gandy Dancing who won an Allowance race here on his fourth start last season and has every chance in this. I feel we have yet to see the best from this gelded son of Flatter as he was slightly disappointing last time out when finishing eighth in an Allowance Optional Claimer here at Saratoga but, if his trainer can get him back to the level he showed when winning that Allowance here last year, then he’ll go close.
5:05pm Saratoga (Race 8) – Winter Pool 2/1
A competitive $60,000 Starter Allowance is Race 8 at Saratoga Winter Pool, who finished second in a similar event at this course last time out, can go one better and gain his second career victory. After finishing seventh on debut at Gulfstream Park in February this gelding then won a mile Maiden Claiming contest at Churchill Downs whilst looking like he could be quite a bit better than that grade. Two 2nd-place efforts at this level have followed and it’s only a matter of time before he wins again.
5:39pm Saratoga (Race 9) – Serve The King 3/1
The penultimate race at Saratoga is the $120,000 John’s Call Stakes which will take some winning so therefore it’s worth siding with Serve The King who is a son of the high class Kingman and should go well. He has three victories from eight career starts and has been placed at Grade 3 level when finishing second in the Monmouth Stakes last season so that is something to build on. He is dropping back in grade for this, having finished fourth behind Tribhuvan in the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes last time, so he’ll welcome this easier task and there could be more improvement to come.
6:13pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Joqular 8/1
Linda Rice’s Joqular is an improving filly who’s last two starts in Claimers have resulted in form figures of 31 so she is taken to follow up in Race 10 at Saratoga. After four credible runs in Allowance Optional Claiming company, connections decided to drop back in grade and their decision was rewarded as her latest victory was a commanding one so I see no reason why she can’t win again over the same trip.
