4:34 pm ET Saratoga (Race 7) – Spirit Prince 3/1 (2-star play)
Race 7 at Saratoga is the Grade 3 With Anticipation Stakes for 2-year-olds and I like the colt in stall 2, Spirit Prince, who was closing well when finishing 2nd over course and distance last time out.
That was an eye-catching effort and he should come on a good amount from that, so a bold bid is expected today.
5:10 pm ET Saratoga (Race 8) – Bank Frenzy 3/1 (2-star play)
A field of 8 goes to post for this $95,000 Allowance in which the Chad Brown-trained G Munning is likely to take plenty of beating, but one who can upset the likely favourite is Lisa Lewis’s Bank Frenzy.
His sire, Central Banker, was a 2-time winner at Saratoga and this improving 3-year-old can go well after some impressive workouts at this course.
5:44 pm ET Saratoga (Race 9) – Ice Road 5/2 (2-star play)
The penultimate event at Saratoga is a 7-furlong Starter Allowance featuring runners who have yet to win a race so far this calendar year and this can go to the in-form Ice Road.
His form figures from his last 3 races read 222, all of which have been in this grade, and Irad Ortiz Jr. has plenty of options from stall 5, so it would not be a surprise should Ice Road get his head in front this time.
6:18 pm ET Saratoga (Race 10) – Miss M M 9/2 (1-star play)
Jose Jimenez’s Miss M M equalled her career-best speed figure when beaten a nose by Stir Crazy over course and distance at the start of this month and the feeling is that there is much more to come from this filly.
Manuel Franco will look to get a good early position in behind the leaders and it would be disappointing should they not figure in a race that is well within the filly’s capabilities.
