1:12 pm ET Saratoga (Race 3) – Up To The Mark 2/1 (2-star play)
Purchased for $450,000 at the Keeneland September Sale in 2020, the son of Not This Time made an impressive start to his racing career when delivering a 4 1/4 length victory in a 6-furlong maiden special weight on a sloppy track in July.
He raced in 3rd in the early stages on that occasion and Todd Pletcher’s charge looks up to successfully defending his unbeaten record with the step up in distance unlikely to provide any issues.
1:43 pm ET Saratoga (Race 4) – Annapolis 2/5 (3-star play)
Victorious in 3 of his 5 starts to date, the son of War Front registered a 2 3/4 length success in a listed stakes race over a mile at Belmont Park in early July.
He performed with credit when stepped up in trip and class in finishing runner-up to European raider Nations Pride in the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes and is expected to help regular pilot Irad Ortiz improve on his 19% strike-rate (47/253) at this meeting.
3:22 pm ET Saratoga (Race 7) – Elite Power 2/1 (2-star play)
Elite Power is improving with racing and got off the mark at the fourth time of asking when drawing 9 lengths clear of his 10 rivals in a 7-furlong maiden special weight at Churchill Downs on his penultimate outing.
He completed a double in a mile allowance at the same venue at the end of June. Back from a short break, he looks up to completing a hat-trick back at 6 furlongs on his first outing away from the Kentucky venue.
5:09 pm ET Saratoga (Race 10) – War Like Goddess 2/5 (3-star play)
The winner of 6 of her last 7 starts, the daughter of English Channel’s sole defeat in that run came when half-a-length 3rd in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Del Mar last November.
She delivered back-to-back wins in the Grade 2 Glenn Falls Stakes over a mile-and-a-half at Saratoga early last month and with Joel Rosario, on board for both starts this spell, booked to ride she looks up to registering consecutive victories in this race.
5:45 pm ET Saratoga (Race 11) – Olympiad 2/1 (2-star play)
Olympiad was in good form earlier this year with a 2 1/4 length victory in the 9-furlong Grade 2 Stephen Foster Stakes at Churchill Downs at the start of July, marking the four-year-old’s 5th consecutive victory.
He proved a disappointment when finishing a well held 4th in the Grade 1 Whitney over the same trip on a good track subsequently but looks well placed to make amends for trainer Bill Mott following a 49.94 4-furlong work on August 28.
