There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Saratoga race track. Here are five runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

1:05 pm Saratoga (Race 1) – Royal Realm +120

A $250,000 purchase at the Keeneland September Sale back in 2019 the selection showed improvement with racing when tackling maiden special weight events getting off the mark at the third attempt when scoring by a neck in a mile event at Belmont Park in May. Tackled a hot looking allowance contest at the same track last month and while finishing fourth of five had excuses having lost his rider pre-race. Can deliver a second victory dropping to a claiming race.

1:41 pm Saratoga (Race 2) – Freedomofthepress +300

Chad Brown’s demonstrated plenty of ability at two placing in both starts in maiden special weight company including when runner-up over a mile-and-one-sixteenth on turf at this venue when debuting in September. Followed up that with a third place finish over the same trip at Aqueduct and looks poised to strike here for a top yard having delivered a solid 48.78 four furlong breeze on the main track at Belmont Park earlier this month.

3:23 pm Saratoga (Race 5) – Malathaat -250

The feature race on the card can go the way of the unbeaten Malathaat who took her record to five-from-five when completing a Grade 1 double in taking the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs at the end of April. Battled to a neck victory over a mile-and-one-eighth on that occasion and while the Curlin filly sets the standard on form she remains open to improvement and can complete a Grade 1 hat-trick in the fifth race on the card.

5:03 pm Saratoga (Race 8) – Rastafara +250

Placed on both previous starts including when debuting with a runner-up finish in a maiden special weight over a mile on turf at Tamp Bay Downs. Overhauled late on when going down by a nose to a fellow debutant that day and delivered a solid third when ridden from off the pace in a competitive contest over a mile-and-one-sixteenth at Belmont Park subsequently. Can get off the mark at the third time of asking for trainer Chad Brown.

6:13 pm Saratoga (Race 10) – Robin Sparkles +120

The mount of Jose Ortiz here the selection is the winner of five of her last six starts including when completing a double in taking an allowance optional claiming event by two-and-a-quarter lengths at Belmont Park a month ago. Made all over six furlongs on that occasion and looks capable of employing similar tactics upped to Graded stakes company having taken a minor stakes event over a mile on the main track at Belmont Park on her penultimate outing.
