There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Saratoga race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
3:29pm Saratoga (Race 7): Too Sexy +350
Race 7 at Saratoga is a $103,000 Allowance over an extended five furlongs on the turf and I like the chances of Too Sexy who should go very well from gate number two. Christophe Clement’s filly took six attempts to break her maiden tag when she managed to pick up a five-furlong Maiden Special Weight three starts back at Gulfstream Park. A fourth and a second in Allowance company followed that win and she should make a bold bid from her inside gate.
5:05pm Saratoga (Race 8): Polished Gem +800
Polished Gem has been running very well in Claiming events recently and can do so again in Race 8 at Saratoga, a $66,000 contest over six furlongs. This daughter of Hard Spun recorded her highest speed figure on her penultimate start when she won a seven-furlong Claimer at Churchill Downs by two and a half lengths and a similar run here will see her go very close.
5:39 pm Saratoga (Race 9): Corelli +1000
The penultimate race at Saratoga is the $150,000 Grade 3 Forbidden Apple Stakes and Corelli, who shapes as though he could win one of these graded races soon, can hit the board at 10/1 odds. He is an ex-British trained gelding who has been highly tried since coming over to America but has been acquitting himself well having won the Listed Henry S. Clark Stakes at Pimlico two starts back. Stall two is ideal and he could scare the main protagonists at a price.
6:13 pm Saratoga (Race 10): Kreesa La Wrote +350
An $85,000 Maiden Special Weight ends the card at Saratoga and I like the look of Kreesa La Wrote who has been threatening to win one of these and can do so this time around. She has been doing all of her racing at Belmont Park and Aqueduct and has been knocking on the door with a couple of placed efforts against strong opposition so she may just find this a little easier. However, it won’t be easy from the eight post but she looks solid and it’s only a matter of time before she gets her head in front.
