Conclude performed well when making his debut in a similar race to this over the same course and distance in January. He raced close to the speed prior to delivering a half-length 2nd when caught late on in a 12-runner contest.
Trainer Philip D’Amato does well at this venue with the handler boasting a 16% strike-rate (15/93) and his representative looks capable of delivering a victory with Flavien Prat, on board for that debut effort, booked to ride.
3:58 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 3) – Cherubic Factor 5/2 (2-star play)
Cherubic Factor registered a number of on-the-board finishes on the turf course at Santa Anita since a gelding operation in May 2021 and recorded his first victory since March of that year when winning by a neck in a similar race to this over the same track and trip in June last year.
Given a break since that triumph, he has impressed in the mornings in recent times and looks capable of recording a 3rd win in 5 starts at this trip.
4:24 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 4) – Bus Buzz 6/5 (2-star play)
Bus Buzz impressed when making the perfect start to his racing career and delivering an 8-length victory having led from the outset in a maiden special weight over course and distance a month ago. He delivered a triple-digit speed figure on that occasion and with improvement expected the son of Stay Thirsty looks capable of maintaining his unbeaten record.
Steve R Knapp’s charge is well drawn in gate 3 with Edwin A Maldonado, on board for his debut, booked to ride.
7:30 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 10) – Synthesis 3/1 (2-star play)
The David Jacobson-trained gelding registered a half-length victory in an allowance optional claiming contest over 7 furlongs at Aqueduct in December. He found the step up to graded company too much when a well-beaten 6th over the same track and trip the following month.
He has won 5 times at this track and looks capable of making a winning return to California following a 2nd-place finish in a $25,000 starter event over 6 1/2 furlongs at Aqueduct last month.
8:00 pm ET Santa Anita (Race 11) – Hong Kong Harry 9/5 (2-star play)
Hong Kong Harry has registered victories in 5 of his 6 starts since joining the Philip D’Amato barn from Europe. He has won 3 times in graded company, including by a neck having raced in 5th for much of the contest when taking the Grade 2 Seabiscuit Handicap over a mile and 1/16th at Del Mar in November.
He advertised his wellbeing with a string of solid works in recent weeks and the 6-year-old is taken to complete a hat-trick to deliver a first top-level success.
