Mikey’s Jewel has finished on the board in each of her 4 starts since joining the Jorge Diaz barn, including when finishing 2 1/4 lengths 3rd in a $7,500 claiming contest over this course and distance at the end of last month.
She had previously placed 2nd in a similar event 4 weeks earlier. Regular jockey Jorge L Gonzalez takes the ride and the daughter of Not This Time looks capable of registering a victory having scored twice from 14 starts in 2021.
2:43 pm ET Parx (Race 5) – Son Of A Saint 3/1 (2-star play)
Son Of A Saint completed a double in bottom-level claiming races at Parx when winning by 4 1/4 lengths under today’s jockey Luis D Rivera in a mile and 70-yard contest on a fast main track last month.
He had previously shown a muddy track is no issue when delivering a wide-margin triumph and, representing a handler with an 18% strike-rate at this meeting, the son of Speightstown is taken to complete a hat-trick having scored in a higher grade as recently as last July.
4:58 pm ET Parx (Race 10) – American Unity 2/1 (2-star play)
Unbeaten in 3 starts on the main track, the 4-year-old American Unity put a disappointing effort in an allowance race at Laurel behind him when winning a starter contest over an extended 7 furlongs at this venue last month.
Making his first start since a gelding operation that day, the son of Munnings has jockey Frankie Pennington up once more and he looks capable of registering a 4th win in 5 starts since joining the stable of Jamie Ness.
