Horse Racing picks for Parx race track on Tuesday, November 1: Trophy Chaser can claim the prize

12:52 pm ET Parx (Race 2) – Pliantlea 6/5 (2-star play)

Pliantlea has demonstrated good form at a higher level this season, including when winning a $20,000 claiming contest on a good main track at Keeneland in April.

She subsequently joined the Jamie Ness barn and while the daughter of Lea has yet to score for the handler, she has been competing in stronger races, including when 4th in a mile starter optional claiming event on a sloppy track at Parx just under a month ago. She looks up to recording a third career win.

1:46 pm ET Parx (Race 4) – Magnolia Road 7/5 (2-star play)

While the Violence filly has failed to score in 19 starts it’s of note that she’s finished on the board in 2 of her last 3 outings, including when 3rd in a $16,000 maiden claiming race over a mile on a sloppy main track at Parx last week.

She has performed well in $10,000 maiden claiming company in the past, including when runner-up on turf at Colonial Downs 3 starts back, and is taken to score with Ruben Silver being a positive jockey booking.

4:01 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Trophy Chaser 8/5 (2-star play)

Trophy Chaser has been competing in stronger contests of late, including when 4 1/4 lengths 5th in the 5-furlong Rumson Stakes, a 6-runner event at Monmouth Park on his penultimate outing. He had excuses when hitting the gate at Belmont Park At The Big A when dropped to a $32,000 waiver claiming contest subsequently.

Dropping further in grade today, he is selected to register a 5th career win and a first since taking the Grade 3 Challenger Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in March 2020.
