12:40 pm Parx (Race 1) – Viradia 2/1 (2-star play)
Performed well at a higher level at Aqueduct during the winter, including when winning in a $16,000 claiming contest over 6 furlongs at the New York venue in early November. Has since scored over a mile in a $10,000 claimer at the same track in January. Raced prominently/from the front on those occasions and switches to this track on his debut for a new trainer following a below par fifth in a 7-furlong $10,000 claimer at Aqueduct in February.
2:01 pm Parx (Race 4) – In Sky We Trust 9/5 (2-star play)
Registered a 1-length victory in a $40,000 claiming contest at this venue on his penultimate start but failed to shine when 10-and-a-quarter-lengths third in a 6-furlong $12,500 starter optional claiming event subsequently. Has performed well at a higher level in the past and that effort is worth forgiving. Returns to six-and-a-half-furlongs here and coming into this on the back of a 49.28 four furlong work is selected to register a third victory in 7 starts at this track.
2:28 pm Parx (Race 5) – El Gran Cuyaya 5/2 (2-star play)
The son of Klimt has proven that he can be competitive at this level including when three-and-a-half-lengths second in a race over a mile at this venue last month. The pick had previously finished 5 lengths third in a similar race over 7 furlongs here in March. The 3-year-old joined the Scott Lake stable following that latest effort and he looks capable of getting off the mark at the sixth attempt with Joseph Trejos up for the first time.
