12:40 pm ET Parx (Race 1) – Gun Collector 2/1 (2-star play)
Purchased for $550,000 as a yearling at Saratoga in 2021, the 3-year-old Gun Collector showed ability when finishing 9 1/4 lengths 4th in a 6-furlong maiden special weight at Fair Grounds at the start of this month.
He is expected to have improved for that effort and with the step up in distance another positive, he is taken to get off the mark with Mychel J Sanchez booked to ride following a 48.40 4-furlong breeze at Fair Grounds on March 16.
2:55 pm ET Parx (Race 6) – Minding Millie 8/5 (2-star play)
Minding Millie changed stables after finishing a length 3rd when racing from the front in a $16,000 claiming contest over a mile at Delaware Park in early November. She hasn’t been at her best in 3 starts for current handler Jamie Ness, but did perform better when 4th over a mile in a $10,000 claimer a month ago.
The shorter distance today looks likely to suit her and, dropping down in class, she is selected to provide jockey Ruben Silvera with a winner.
4:26 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Five Dreams 8/5 (2-star play)
Five Dreams has finished on the board in 4 of his 5 starts since winning by a length on a sloppy main track in a 6-furlong allowance contest at Parx in October. The exception came when he faded in the Fishtown Stakes over the same track and trip earlier this month.
He dueled for the lead on that occasion having been drawn in gate 6. Andrew Wolfsont is back in the saddle today and his mount looks capable of returning to the winner’s enclosure.
