Magnolia Road showed some solid placed form on turf during the summer, including when runner-up at this level in a mile and 1/16th contest at Colonial Downs at the end of August. She finished on the board in 3 of her 4 subsequent starts, including when beaten 9 lengths over a mile on a muddy main track at Parx last month.
She is making her debut for a new trainer today and is selected to register a first victory dropping back to 7 furlongs with Ruben Silvera riding.
12:49 pm ET Parx (Race 3) – Classy Sadie 8/5 (2-star play)
Classy Sadie has finished on the board in each of her last 4 starts with those efforts including 2 victories. The most recent success came by a neck when racing at this level over course and distance on November 8.
She caught the eye finishing well when beaten a neck into 2nd in a similar contest 3 weeks later. Having drawn the rail today and with regular pilot Andrew Wolfsont riding the daughter of Emcee looks up to registering a 4th victory.
2:37 pm ET Parx (Race 7) – Anna Volante 2/1 (2-star play)
Successful in a maiden special weight at Fair Grounds in January, the daughter of Fast Anna has failed to score in 7 subsequent starts. She has been racing in California of late however, including when 6 1/4 lengths 4th in a 5 1/2 furlong $16,000 claimer at Santa Anita early last month.
She is coming into this on the back of a 1:01.20 5-furlong breeze at Fair Grounds and is taken to score on her first start for trainer Michael E Jones Jr.
