Sweeter delivered a solid 7 1/2 length 4th in a $16,000 claiming contest over 6 1/2 furlongs at Aqueduct on her penultimate outing. She then faded having raced behind the speed in a mile claimer at the same level at the New York track just over a month ago.
The shorter distance today is in her favour and the tactically-versatile filly is selected to register a victory tackling an easier contest with Jose Gomez up on her first start at this venue.
2:10 pm ET Parx (Race 6) – Angelus Warrior 5/2 (2-star play)
Angelus Warrior delivered a string of on-the-board finishes on turf for the Jamie Ness barn prior to registering a half-length victory in a $6,250 claiming contest over this trip at Delaware Park on his second dirt start.
He had placed 2nd when beaten 3 lengths having tried to make all in a similar race to this on his Parx and dirt debut and with the track’s top jockey, Ruben Silvera, booked to ride, he looks up to registering a victory.
