12:40 pm Parx (Race 1) – Miss Chamita 2/1 (2-star play)
The daughter of Keen Ice has been performing at a higher level in recent starts including when nine lengths third in a $10,000 claiming contest at Laurel earlier this month. Only previous start at this venue came when six-and-a-half-lengths fourth in a $25,000 starter optional claiming contest over course and distance in January. The drop in grade here is a positive and having drawn the rail the four-year-old looks capable of providing apprentice Axel Concepcion with a winner.
1:07 pm Parx (Race 2) – Jovial 8/5 (2-star play)
Raced from off the pace early prior to finishing ten lengths second in a similar race to this over course and distance three weeks ago. The five-year-old has performed well at a higher level in the past including when runner-up having attempted to make all in a $12,500 claiming race over seven furlongs here three starts back. Trainer Scott Lake boasts a 16% strike-rate (24/150) at this meeting and his representative can help him improve on that with victory here.
2:01 pm Parx (Race 4) – Verdandi 8/5 (2-star play)
Scott Lake’’s runner belated got off the mark when making all the running to score by three-quarters-of-a-length in a $40,000 maiden claiming contest over seven furlongs here at the end of January. Failed to shine in two starts in $16,000 starter optional claiming races subsequently but she has been ridden with more restraint on each occasion. The filly drops in grade here and having drawn post position two is taken to deliver a victory with Frankie Pennington booked to ride.
