1:49 pm ET Parx (Race 3) – Spikezone 5/2 (2-star play)
Spikezone debuted with an easy 2 1/2 length victory over 6 furlongs on a sloppy track in a $25,000 maiden claiming contest at Delaware Park in June. He has delivered 3 solid efforts since, including when runner-up in a 5-furlong allowance optional claiming race at Parx this month.
That effort came on a sloppy main track and, representing the powerful Jamie Ness barn, the son of Speightster is taken to double his career tally, with the extra distance unlikely to inconvenience him.
4:04 pm ET Parx (Race 8) – Good Source 3/1 (2-star play)
Good Source, a daughter of Outwork, delivered some solid work prior to making a winning debut when scoring by1 1/2 lengths in a 5 1/2 furlong maiden special weight at this venue just over a month ago.
She posted a good 1:00.53 in her only timed work since that effort and looks up to helping trainer Michael V Pino improve on his 24% strike-rate (32/133) at this meeting with Mychel J Sanchez, who was on board for that debut victory, again taking the ride.
4:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Et’s Magic Man 5/2 (2-star play)
Et’s Magic Man has registered wins in each of his last 3 starts, including in $16,000 starter optional claiming races the last twice. He made all the running when winning by 3/4 length over a mile and 1/16th on a good track at Parx earlier this month.
He has raced from off the pace in the past, however, and may need to be ridden with restraint today given he is drawn wide. Jockey Jeremy Laprida knows the gelding well and the pair are selected to record a fourth victory together.
