He finished on the board in a $10,000 maiden claimer over six furlongs at Tampa Bay Downs back in May, and registered his best effort since when finishing runner-up, beaten two-and-three-quarter-lengths over this course and distance in a similar contest when making his debut for current trainer Felix L Flores-Coba last month. He faded late on that day, but that form looks the pick in this contest and the Shanghai Bobby colt looks up to breaking his maiden at the eight attempt.
2:16 pm Parx (Race 4) – Captain Chazz 3/1 (2-star play)
He showed good form at a higher level when winning by a neck in a $25,000 claiming contest over this course and distance on a good main track in May. Out of form in his next three starts, including when trying turf in a five furlong allowance at Penn National early last month, but the drop to this level brought about a fourth win in nine starts here when scoring by two-and-a-half-lengths. He was selected to complete a double for trainer Joseph Taylor.
4:04 pm Parx (Race 8) – Pachelbel 5/2 (2-star play)
She demonstrated ability on both starts to date finishing fourth each time including over five-and-one-half-furlongs here last month. She was beaten three-and-three-quarter-lengths that day, but delivered an improved speed figure that day having been beaten twelve-and-three-quarter-lengths over the same track and trip prior. With Frankie Pennington taking over in the saddle, the daughter of Hoppertunity she is selected to break her maiden at the third time of asking with trainer John Servis boasting a 21% strike-rate (29/137) at this meeting.
