1:22 pm ET Parx (Race 2) – Magnetique 5/2 (2-star play)
Magnetique performed well when 1 1/4 lengths 4th in a $12,500 waiver maiden claiming race over 6 furlongs on a sloppy track at Aqueduct in April and while the daughter of Normandy Invasion finished tailed off in a $7,500 claimer over a mile at Parz subsequently, she has changed trainer following that effort.
Now in the hands of Jamie Ness she is taken to make her first start for the handler a winning one with the track’s top jockey Ruben Silvera in the saddle.
4:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Belle Belisa 3/1 (2-star play)
Belle Belisa proved a disappointment in 2 starts on the all-weather at Turfway Park during the winter, including when 11th over 1 1/4 miles there in January. She returned to form back on turf with a solid neck 2nd in an allowance contest over a mile at Laurel in April.
Her usual waiting tactics were employed when she finished strongly that day and the daughter of Lope de Vega is taken to make her first start at this venue a winning one with Frankie Pennington up.
4:58 pm ET Parx (Race 10) – Quiet Please 7/2 (2-star play)
Quiet Please has shown good form of late, following up a 3rd-place finish when fading late on in a $5,000 claiming event over a mile at Parx with a 1 3/4-length victory under today’s rider Ruben Silvera in a $7,5000 claimer over a mile and 1/16th at this track three weeks ago.
He tracked the pace in 3rd for much of that contest when making his debut for his current connections and looks capable of employing similar tactics successfully now dropping in grade for trainer Howard R Brown Jr.
