Storied Fella joined the Jamie Ness barn following a 5-length 5th in a starter optional claiming contest over a mile and 70 yards at Parx in early April. He was sent off favorite prior to finishing runner-up, beaten 4.75 lengths, in a race over 6.5 furlongs at this level when debuting for his current connections just under 3 weeks ago.
The extra half-furlong today is no issue and he looks up to scoring with jockey Ruben Silvera looking to improve on his 18% strike-rate (70/382) at this meeting.
3:53 pm ET Parx (Race 8) – Mr. Roundtree 5/2 (2-star play)
The veteran campaigner Mr. Roundtree has been the model of consistency in recent months, finishing on the board in each of his last 9 outings. Those starts have included 2 victories most recently he was successful by a nose in a 6.5-furlong starter event at this venue last month.
He missed a subsequent outing in a starter optional claimer at Parx earlier this month when withdrawn by the stewards and looks up to completing a double for the Ernesto Padilla-Preciado stable.
4:20 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Lady Zeta 3/1 (2-star play)
The 4-year-old filly Lady Zeta joined current handler Jamie Ness following a length 2nd in a $25,000 claiming contest over 6.5 furlongs at Parx at the start of last month.
The daughter of Midshipman showed up well when racing prominently prior to finishing 3 lengths 2nd in a similar race to this over 6 furlongs at this track later that month. She has a top jockey in the saddle and looks capable of going one better to register her third win at this venue.
