Tops The Chart appeared to appreciate the return to the main track when delivering a 5 1/2 length 2nd having been ridden from off the pace in a 6-furlong allowance contest at Monmouth Park in May.
The step up in trip and a switch to more positive tactics appeared no issue when he was the comfortable 4 3/4 length winner of a similar event over a mile at the same venue later that month. He looks capable of providing new trainer Paul Conrad with a winner.
3:37 pm ET Parx (Race 7) – Allevare 8/5 (2-star play)
The winner of 2 of his 7 career starts, John Servis’ charge battled to a neck victory having raced close to the pace over 6 1/2 furlongs in an allowance optional claiming race at Parx in April. Different tactics were used when he was ridden from off the pace prior to finishing 5th in the Danzig Stakes over 6 furlongs at Penn National subsequently.
Dropping in grade today, the gelding is taken to register career win number 3 with regular pilot Frankie Pennington in the saddle.
4:04 pm ET Parx (Race 8) Roadtriptonowhere 5/2 (2-star play)
Roadtriptonowhere is the winner of 2 of his last 3 starts, including by 12 3/4 lengths in a maiden special weight over a mile on a fast main track at Parx 3 starts back. Has since followed up a starter optional claimer 2nd with a wide margin success in a similar event over a mile at Parx at the end of last month.
The return to turf should prove no issue and he can help trainer Guadalupe Preciado improve on his 26% strike-rate (15/57) at this meeting.
