1:10 pm ET Parx (Race 2) – Jebologist 2/1 (2-star play)
The gelding hasn’t been beaten far in stronger contests in recent starts including when fading late on having tried to make all the running when finishing four lengths fourth in a $25,000 claiming event over seven furlongs here in May. Has delivered fair efforts in two subsequent starts in allowance company at Laurel including over the same trip at the start of this month and dropping in grade he looks capable of returning to winning ways for trainer Jamie Ness.
2:01 pm ET Parx (Race 3) – Sir Cupid 8/5 (2-star play)
The four-year-old performed well when making his debut for handler Scott Lake when third, beaten three-and-a-quarter-lengths in a $16,000 starter optional claiming contest over this track and trip early last month. Subsequently came home fifth in a similar event here just over three weeks later. The drop in grade here is a positive and having won under jockey Franklin Gonzalez Jr in the past the son of Cupid is taken to register his second career success.
2:59 pm ET Parx (Race 4) – Boat’s A Rockin 9/5 (2-star play)
The son of Red Rock’s was the winner of an allowance optional claiming contest over five-and-a-half-furlongs on a good turf track at Laurel four starts back. The six-year-old has finished on the board in all three subsequent outings including when third over a mile here just under a month ago. The distance here is no issue and having placed in Graded company as recently as last September he is expected to prove too strong for his rivals.
