Drop to claiming company is a positive and the Big Brown Gelding is taken to debut at this venue with a victory.
12:49 pm Parx (Race 3) – Hometown Hero 8/5 (2-star play)
He was victorious in a $20,000 claiming contest over six-and-a-half-furlongs on a muddy track at Churchill Downs last July but has failed to score in six subsequent attempts. He registered a solid third over seven furlongs in a $20,000 starter event at the same venue on his penultimate start however. He gets a drop in grade here following a heavy defeat in a $30,000 claimer and looks up to recording a victory with Abner Adorno booked to ride for trainer Jonathan Wong.
1:16 pm Parx (Race 4) – Can’t Complain 5/2 (2-star play)
She showed ability in maiden special weight company on her first two starts including when six-and-a-half-lengths fourth over six-and-a-half-furlongs at this venue in November. She held sixth when stepped up to stakes company and ridden with more restraint over six furlongs at this venue later that month however. Advertised her well-being with a 50.52 four furlong breeze here earlier this month dropping to maiden claiming company looks up to getting off the mark at the fourth time of asking.
