Gets a drop in grade here having delivered a fair fourth place finish when contesting a $16,000 maiden claimer over six-and-one-half-furlongs at this venue just over a month ago. Racing from off the pace appeared to suit on that occasion and in what looks a moderate event he is taken to break his maiden at the eighth time of asking with Luis Rivera booked to ride for trainer Jorge Diaz who is looking for his third winner at this meet.
2:40 pm Parx (Race 6) – Mackenzie’s Novva 3/1
Has shown plenty of ability in four starts to date finishing on the board in three of them with the exception coming when down the field ninth over the unique Kentucky Downs turf course in September. Raced prominently when going down by six lengths in a mile maiden special weight for Pennsylvania-bred three-year-old’s here last month and with Ruben Silvera up once more he can break his maiden following a 50 second four-furlong work on the all-weather at Fair Hill.
3:34 pm Parx (Race 8) – Crabs N Beer 5/2
Representing the powerful Jamie Ness barn the selection made a highly promising 2022 debut when finishing runner-up behind an impressive winner in a six furlong allowance optional claiming event here last month. Was making his first start at this venue that day having previously finished out of the money in a minor stakes contest at Laurel Park. With lasix applied for the first time here he looks up to delivering a victory switched to a starter optional claimer.
