1:34 pm Parx (Race 3) – Batter Up Bud 7/2 (2-star play)
The four-year-old placed second when contesting a $40,000 allowance optional claimer over six-and-a-half-furlongs here at the start of February. Joined current trainer Robert E Reid Jr following a well beaten fifth over a mile in a $40,000 claimer at Aqueduct later that month. Encountered a wet track for the first time when debuting with a fair fifth following a slow start in an allowance optional claimer here last month and is taken to deliver a victory dropping in grade.
2:01 pm Parx (Race 4) – El Gran Cuyaya 5/2 (2-star play)
The son of Klimt showed signs of ability in three starts for Marcelo Arenas in maiden claiming company at Aqueduct during the winter. Those efforts including a nine length six over six-and-a-half-furlongs in a $40,000 maiden claimer on debut at the end of December. Took a step forward dropping to $10,000 maiden claiming level when five lengths third in a seven furlong contest here on debut for his current trainer. Looks capable of breaking his maiden at the fifth attempt.
3:53 pm Parx (Race 8) – Capital Conquest 5/2 (2-star play)
Scott Lake’s charge has taken a marked step forward since a gelding operation prior to his two length third in a $40,000 maiden claimer over six furlongs here in early March. The three-year-old followed that up with a three length second over half-a-furlong further two weeks later. The switch to a maiden special weight here should prove no issue and he is taken to score under regular jockey Ruben Silvera with the step up to seven furlongs expected to suit.
