There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Saturday, including at Laurel Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 238.85 units dating back to August 5.
Here are 5 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.
2:05 pm Laurel Park (Race 4) – Luna Belle 6/5
Hamilton Smith’s charge has impressed in winning her two most recent starts with both coming in stakes company at this venue. The latest of those resulted in a six length victory having led into the straight over six furlongs here at the end of last month. Had today’s rivals Buff My Boots and Beneath the Stars back in second and third respectively that day. The step up in trip is no issue having won by two-and-three-quarter-lengths over this distance prior.
3:11 pm Laurel Park (Race 6) – Miss Leslie 8/5
Ended last year in good form registering two stakes victories at this venue including in the mile-and-one-eighth Carousel Stakes in which she finished three-and-three-quarter-lengths clear of her seven rivals. Returned in good form this year going down by just a neck in a stakes contest over the same distance at Aqueduct five weeks ago. The return to this venue is a positive having won half of her ten previous starts here and she can deliver an eighth career success.
3:41 pm Laurel Park (Race 7) – Workin On a Dream 9/5
The mount of Forest Boyce has a good draw here with the frontrunner having drawn the rail as he seeks a stakes success following two second place finishes in stakes company at this venue. An impressive all the way nine-and-three-quarter-length victory over a mile in the mud in an allowance optional claimer preceded those two stakes efforts and the Jersey Town gelding looks likely to prove hard to beat on his first start of the year.
4:14 pm Laurel Park (Race 8) – Glass Ceiling 7/5
The daughter of Constitution had found wins hard to come by prior to winning over six-and-one-half-furlongs in an allowance event at Belmont Park at the end of September. Has won twice from three subsequent starts since then including in a minor stakes at Aqueduct on her penultimate outing. Dylan Davis’ mount finished clear of her rivals in a seven furlong allowance optional claimer at the same venue last month and is taken to make a winning return to stakes company.
4:45 pm Laurel Park (Race 9) – Cordmaker 7/5
Hillwood Stable’s veteran has been in great form in recent months rattling off a hat-trick of stakes victories at this venue including by a neck over a mile in the Jennings Stakes here at the end of January. Had previously scored over both a mile-and-one-eighth and a mile-and-one-sixteenth and having raced close to the pace last time out he should have no issues with the shorter distance coming into this race following a 35.40 three furlong breeze here recently.
