There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Keeneland race track. We are still absolutely on fire with our plays, having picked 92 winners in our last 222 races while profiting 123.95 units dating back to Aug. 5. Here are 3 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races on Wednesday. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.
3:08 pm Keeneland (Race 5) – One Fast Cat 7/5
Race 5 at Keeneland is a $41,000 Claiming contest for three-year-olds over an extended six furlongs which features a small but select field and this one should go to the likely favourite One Fast Cat. Wesley Ward’s colt won on debut at Turfway Park back in February before finishing third in two Allowance Optional Claiming events, one of which was here over seven furlongs and connections have since given him a five month break. I feel that they were expecting him to follow up after his debut victory but, now that they’ve given him time to grow into himself, he can dominate this small field and return to winning ways.
3:40 pm Keeneland (Race 6) – Mrs Claus 10/1
The Godolphin owned Mrs Claus perhaps didn’t show up as her trainer Brendan Walsh would have hoped when finishing a nine and three quarter length third behind Burning Ambition on her latest start but that wasn’t a bad run and she can bounce back to win Race 6 at Keeneland. This Allowance over a mile on the turf will take some winning as it’s very competitive but Mrs Claus was two-from-two before that latest run and still has a lovely unexposed profile so another chance is taken on this daughter of Cairo Prince who could have lots more to come.
4:12 pm Keeneland (Race 7) – Swiftsure 3/1
Steve Asmussen’s Swiftsure is taking a drop in grade and remains a colt of some potential so he is taken to blow away the opposition in Race 7 at Keeneland. This is a good little Allowance Optional Claiming race but Swiftsure was brilliant when winning his first two starts of his career before finishing seventh in the Grade 3 Lexington Stakes at this track but that may have come too soon for him. This is a much easier task and he can win this.
4:44 pm Keeneland (Race 8) – Blissful 12/1
The $200,000 Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes for two-year-old fillies is the eighth and final race on Keeneland’s Friday card and Cherie DeVaux’s Blissful, who is one from one, could be anything and represents value against the opposition. Many in this have similar profiles but I like the way this filly won on debut at Saratoga as she had a rough trip but still toughed it out to win over this distance and would have learned an awful lot from that so she is the one to side with.
