There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Wednesday, including at Keeneland race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now, up 282.65 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5. We had a winner and a pair of 2nd places at Parx on Tuesday. Let’s keep it rolling!
Here are our best bets for today’s action at Keeneland.
3:08 pm Keeneland (Race 5) – Nosilverspoonshere 5/1 (1-star play)
Race 5 at Keeneland is a $55,000 Maiden Claiming contest for the female division over 7 furlongs on the dirt surface and this one can go to the Brad Cox newcomer Nosilverspoonshere.
This daughter of Connect has been putting in some impressive workouts and if she can translate that to the track then she should go well from stall 2.
3:40 pm Keeneland (Race 6) – Skyro 4/1 (2-star play)
Brian Lynch’s Skyro has been clocking up some good speed figures in recent starts and this 4-year-old gelding can make his presence felt in this $120,000 Allowance over a mile and 1/16th on the turf, Race 6.
He has been very good in Allowance Optional Claiming company in his last 2 outings at Gulfstream Park, one of which resulted in a gutsy victory over a mile, and if he turns up in a similar mood then he will be the one they all have to beat.
4:12 pm Keeneland (Race 7) – Silent Disco 3/1 (2-star play)
The penultimate race at Keeneland is a competitive 5-runner $54,000 Claiming event over a mile and 1/16th, with preference for the gelding in the outside gate, Silent Disco, who is getting better with experience and has every chance.
Since breaking his maiden in a Maiden Claimer at Turfway Park in December he’s finished in the frame in 2 races at Oaklawn Park and he should get better with experience, so a chance is taken on him gaining a second win.
4:44 pm Keeneland (Race 8) – Spare Cash 5/2 (2-star play)
A field of 16 is set to go to post for the 8th and final race at Keeneland, which is a $100,000 Maiden Special Weight over a mile on the turf and I like the chances of the Brad Cox filly, Spare Cash. Her last 3 form figures read 322 and it’s only a matter of time before she wins one of these.
Her latest run over an extended mile at Turfway Park was some effort and she was unlucky to get nailed late on as the race looked to be hers for the taking, but she can make amends and win the finale.
