2:04 pm ET Keeneland (Race 3) – Forever Dixie 9/2 (1-star play)
The winner of a maiden special weight at Woodbine at the start of October, the daughter of Quality Road has shown good form in 2 starts in stakes company since then. The second of those came when a good 2 1/2 lengths 4th over a mile and 1/16th in the Grade 3 Grey Stakes at the same track in November.
She has shown good form in the mornings since and looks capable of delivering a victory on her first start as a 3-year-old.
2:36 pm ET Keeneland (Race 4) – Greyes Creek 15/1 (1-star play)
Greyes Creek delivered a big speed figure when 7th in an allowance over this course and distance 3 starts back. He confirmed that figure was no fluke when taking out an allowance optional claimer over a mile when switched to synthetics at Turfway Park subsequently.
While he failed to shine in a handicap on the synthetic track at Gulfstream Park in January, he is capable of better and is taken to score with the return of blinkers expected to sharpen him up.
3:40 pm ET Keeneland (Race 6) – Kaufymaker 6/5 (2-star play)
A maiden special weight winner at Keeneland just under 2 years ago, the daughter of Jimmy Creed has been lightly-raced since finishing down the field at Royal Ascot 2 months later.
The 4-year-old showed that she retains plenty of ability when returning from nearly a year off to make all the running to score by 2 1/4 lengths in a 5 1/2 furlong allowance event at this venue in October. Similar tactics are expected today and she is taken to return to the winner’s enclosure.
4:12 pm ET Keeneland (Race 7) – Hejazi 8/5 (3-star play)
The selection placed in a couple of maiden special weights at Del Mar prior to placing 3rd in the Grade 1 American Pharoah over an extended mile at Santa Anita in October. A maiden special weight winner at the same venue subsequently, the Bernadini colt was 4th in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes early last month.
John Velazquez takes the ride for the first time and looks capable of steering the 3-year-old to victory for handler Bob Baffert.
4:44 pm ET Keeneland (Race 8) – Nagirroc 8/1 (1-star play)
The son of Lea delivered 2 wins as a juvenile, including when taking out the Grade 3 Futurity Stakes over approximately 6 furlongs on turf at the Belmont Park At Aqueduct meeting in October.
The step up to a mile proved no issue when he finished 4th in the prestigious Breeders’ Cup Juvenile over the same trip at this venue in November. The 3-year-old has won a Listed event at Santa Anita since, and looks capable of following up.
