1:00 pm ET Keeneland (Race 1) – Runway Magic 7/2 (2-star play)
Runway Magic demonstrated good form when finishing runner-up having been favorite for a $20,000 claiming contest over a mile at Churchill Downs at the start of this month. Returning from a break that day, he was claimed by his current connections subsequently.
Having performed well at a higher level in the past the Runhappy gelding is selected to register a 3rd career win with his 2 races at this venue both having been in stronger events.
3:08 pm ET Keeneland (Race 5) – Dark Shift 9/5 (2-star play)
Dark Shift showed good form in Europe, including when winning the valuable Royal Hunt Cup handicap over a mile on a good-to-firm track at Royal Ascot in June. He came within a neck of following up in the 7-furlong International Handicap at the same venue subsequently.
He missed a Grade 1 engagement having been on the also-eligible list at Keeneland earlier this month and is selected to make his first start for trainer Conor Murphy a winning one with Vincent Cheminaud up.
4:12 pm ET Keeneland (Race 7) – Sister Otoole 8/1 (1-star play)
Sister Otoole disappointed on a yielding turf course in the Grade 2 Sheesphead Bay Stakes over a mile and 3/8ths at Belmont Park in May, but has been in good form over shorter since.
She followed up a 2nd at this level with a half-length success in the 11-furlong CTT and TOC Stakes, a Listed event in August. Freshened up since, she is taken to deliver a victory for a stable that can boast a 40% strike-rate (4/10) at this meeting.
